Join Our Team

We are always on the lookout for new team members! Prospective team members should be passionate about racial equity; interested in working in a small, social justice-focused organization; and open to learning and growing with us.
At this moment, you must be a BIPOC teen (ages 13-19) to join our team.

Logistics

So... what do CC team members do?
Glad you asked! As a CC team member, you'll be part of 1+ mini-teams (see below for mini-team descriptions): mentorship, education, content creation, outreach/communication, or fundraising/finance. Mini-teams are flexible—you can change mini-teams or sit on more than one mini-team depending on your interests and abilities.
Additionally, any team member can pitch and execute a short- or long-term project, regardless of whether it fits into an existing mini-team category.
Hold up. I checked the mini-team breakdown, and I see that some teams have a TON of responsibilities. If I joined a mini-team, would I be required to take on all of their tasks?
Nope! You can take on as many or as few responsibilities as you would like. For example, team members in our content creation team typically focus on just video editing/web-series production or blog content... not both.
I've got a lot going on already--school, work, family responsibilities—and I want to make sure I can fit this into my schedule. What's the time commitment for team members?
CC team members are required to attend a biweekly team meeting and typically contribute about 2-3 hours of work per week.
If you can’t make that commitment, we encourage you to check out our chapter program. Chapters allow you to promote diversity in the arts at a local level and require a time commitment of 2-3 hours per month.
Great! Last question. Do I need to have extensive prior experience before applying to a mini-team?
Not at all! We value a willingness to learn over all else.
For example, if you are interested in fundraising but don’t have any experience, you are still welcome to apply for that mini-team. If you’re accepted to our team, we will teach you all you need to know!
